The medical literature has now shown a 40% increase in the detection of invasive breast cancer with 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography compared to conventional 2D Mammography. Additionally, since 3D Mammography produces a “clearer” image, there is a 30% decrease in the call-back rate for screening mammography. 3D Mammography is clearly a better test, finding more cancers with less imaging. 3D Breast Tomosynthesis produces a three-dimensional view of the breast tissue that helps radiologists identify and characterize individual breast structures without the confusion of overlapping tissue.
